Landi Simone of Gooserock Farm has created an ingenious alternative to Honey-B-Healthy that can be made at home for a substantial discount. It has been included below:

Gooserock Farm Feeding Supplement

Makes about a gallon

  • 5lbs Sugar

  • 10 Cups Water

  • 2/3 Cup Crafters Choice Emulsifying Wax

  • 1/3 Cup Lemongrass Essential Oil

  • 1/3 Cup Spearmint Essential Oil

  • 1 Tbsp Soy Lecithin Flakes

Bring the water to a boil and blend in the lecithin using a stick blender under dissolved. If the lecithin has clumped, it’s easier if you whisk it into a small amount of hot water in a cup first to dissolve before adding it to the larger pot. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.

At the same time, melt the emulsifying-wax. You can either do this in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave in short 30 second intervals. When melted, add the e-wax and the essential oils to the sugar mixture. Blend well with the stick blender until thoroughly dissolved. Cool. You may want to beat again after the mixture has cooled.

Use 1/3 cup per 5 gallons of sugar syrup.
